Upcycled T-Shirt Owl Coffee Mug Cozy
The supplies for the project:
This cozy is going to be made from a jersey dress with brown, orange, and red flowers on it. There will also be an owl applique made from brown felt and stiched with orange embroidery thread. The cozy will attach with at button made form a coconut shell.
Making the dress into T-Shirt Yarn:
This first step is to turn the dress into yarn. This is done by cutting the fabric into strips but leaving an uncut portion at the top.
The dress is all cut and made into yarn:
After the fabric is cut and made into one long strip, it is then pulled so that the fabric rolls inward to form a tube. Above is the completed ball that is all ready to be knitted.
The knitting is over halfway done:
Here the cozy is almost done being knitted.
The completed project:
The cozy is all done and can know be purchased on my etsy site here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/95600297/on-sale-owl-coffee-mug-cozy-made-with for $5.49 + S&H.

Felted Ruffle Button Cowl with Satin Flowers
The supplies before the project is started
Here is the start of this project. I am making this with 100% lambs wool in the ombre color rosewood which has shades of pink, dark pink, tan, and brown. I have not yet purchased the button that will hold this together because I want to see how much the button hole shrinks after felting. Once completed I will sew three burnt edge satin flowers with buttons in the middle. I will make one big pink flower and two flowers either one tan and one brown or two brown ones (I have not yet decided).
The Cowl about halfway though knitting it
I am about halfway though knitting the cowl. After it is knitted it will then be felted so that there will be no stich definition.
Before felting:
The cowl is now all knitted and ready to be felted.
After Felting:
The cowl is now all done felting. All I need to do now is sew a button on one end and make the satin flowers. I decided to make on big pink flower with three tan buttons in the middle and little brown flowers with a tan button in the middle of each one. The button to hold the cowl together will either be tan or brown (I still need to purchase the button).
Finished Product:
The cowl is now completed. Above is a picture of the finished product. This can be purchased on my etsy site here:http://www.etsy.com/listing/95572593/felted-ruffle-button-cowl-with-satin for $28.75 + S&H
